Only Humans...

- could herd naked men, women and children into huge gas chambers then, after killing them all, use other humans of the same beliefs to carry away the bodies.

- could drop atomic bombs upon civilians then claim that they did it to save lives.

- could happily live in luxury while children all over the world are dying from starvation and lack of medicines and clean water.

- could allow the killing fields of Chairman Mao, Stalin, Sharon, Pol Pot, etc, to occur yet do nothing.

- could sexually violate their own children or the children of others and find pleasure in it.

- could turn a germ-ridden aperture, one which allows foul human waste to escape the body, into a sexual object.

- could happily kill their unborn children because the child might interfere with their career ambitions or yearnings for wealth or spoil their figure.

- could inflict horrendous torture on individuals and/or invade and occupy other nations and kill thousands of their civilians all the while claiming to be fighting for democracy, freedom and human rights.

- could conceive of and build weapons and delivery systems that could destroy the whole planet and every form of life on it many times over.

Only humans, who are guilty of the above and much, much more, could possibly believe that they are intelligent, noble creatures that, one day, some god or other will reward.

Who or what will save us from ourselves?

My question is: Who do we think we are fooling?

In my eyes, while I was painting ..... what is the difference between an artist and a commerical "GOD"

An artist will not abandon its great work until they die and even then they want their work to survive and be appreciated.....

Is "God" dead or were we NOT the great work, what reason does a Father have to abandon his children....

I think you listed all the reasons Daniel why a "God" would abandon many of his children.

Peace and Blessings.

Damian and Lil, sometimes I get a view of humanity which horrifies me.

I try to be optimistic, try to cling to a more idealistic vision but then the facts about us get in the way.

We are lost, it seems!

A bleak outlook indeed. It wouldn't be the first time that I had thought the same. And with a tear in my eye on many occasions to boot. The temptation to say 'sod the bloody lot of em' and find a remote island or isolated enclave somewhere and just hide away until I turn to dust, has crossed my mind many a time. Trouble is there are many others who feel the same way. So places like this are now at a premium!! Not only that but if you let the mad bastards keep on winning, then there wont be anywhere to left to hide anyway. That's why it's so important not to bury your head in the sand and do something. If not for yourself then for the children of the world. And as for the God thing well hello, Bugger the rainbow, if you are dumb enough to believe that he had Noah save his best work in an Ark, then now would seem as good a time as any to break a promise. But for those bright enough to see the moral of 'The story of Noah' Then it's out with the metaphorical Hammer, nails, plains and saws and start building the 'New Ark'. Much better than to sit around forever focusing your energy on all that's wrong and getting more and more depressed... There are millions of people who want change. About time they are given these tools. My belief is that they already have the only tool they need. A universal tool called 'The Keyboard'.

It's a scary thought that our real enemy might be inside us, Monica, might be part of our genes, might be acting like a Trojan Horse!

I'd like to be part of a noble species but I'm 'human' like everyone else (whatever that is).

Cheers!
