I am finally convinced beyond any reasonable doubt that the human race is doomed. Whether it will be via a slow, strangling "1984" scenario or a quick nuclear holocaust (or a combination of both) I cannot say.

I have, on this blog and elsewhere, tried for years to struggle and argue against the inevitability of what is coming but I can no longer continue to delude myself or tilt at windmills.

Mankind's overall stupidity, conceit, destructiveness and greed combined with its inherent evil cannot be overcome by soft words, forceful debate or the presentation of fine ideals. You can lead a blind donkey to water...

Make the most of the remaining days my caring friends because the coming dawn will be very, very ugly. And watch your back!

Big Brother, growing ever bigger and more ruthless, is watching, ready to seize the day.

I completely agree, Dan.
I have been informed by an outside source that "Evil is the only thing powerful enough to eradicate evil".
The sad fact is that the human race IS the evil in question and making the most of our days left has to become our priority.
Very very sad.

I can no longer deny the grim reality of the world and its people, LWB. I bow to the inevitable!

Take care. Remember Big Brother is watching.

Even though the end may be coming ... we are not released from our own human responsibilities. There are victims and there are victors .... but neither can receive their title without the witness, the audience.

We are the witnesses and in so doing we have a choice.... I choose to witness and choose....

even into my darkest days.

The end may be near, but I am not released from the responsibility that my soul has been given. I am not released from my responsibilities... no matter how horrifically others may act .... I must be accountable .... even if I am reduced to nuclear rubble...

Yes Big Brother is watching, .... he has aways been watching .... but it is so easy to escape those eyes .... choices, one must always review their choices....

When being watched ... take advantage of it .... voyeurs become entrapped by their own fantasies of what they are seeing....rather than what is actual.

Peace and Blessings

The image of the cage held over Winston's face and the rat being released (1984) is imprinted on my mind, Lil, and has been for decades.

Never before have I thought it might become a reality but it already has. Who would have thought that torture would be sanctioned by the 'goodies' the complete acceptance of 'collateral' damage?

Human nature cannot be changed.

'Human nature cannot be changed.'

Not only can it be changed... it will be!
Think positive Bro!

When yoou mention the cage in 1984 .... is it the fear of torture or the fear of betrayal that cannot be removed?

I fear both in me... however his love turning to betrayal as a last resort does sum up humanity on many levels does it not?

Perhaps the "Matrix" hit home more than we imagined ... perhaps we are malevolent parasites? Even the most well intentioned?

I watched ... "Children of Men" last night .... rather sobering.

Create an Ark, hold your loved ones dear ...

Desert Peace, I applaud your optimism and energy. However, I see trends across the world which suggest otherwise. What Israel is doing is merely a microcosm of the bigger picture. Right-wing, facist thinking is sweeping the world.

Lil, your comment about the Ark is beautiful. Sound advice indeed.
