These two wonderful photographs from Reuters show very different things. The top one comes from Thailand and shows a monkey licking a block of ice which is filled with tropical fruit. Notice that, like most humans, the monkey's tongue is struck out as far as it can go to ensure it gets as much as possible.
The second one shows Palestinian kids reclaimed a hill recently vacated by Israeli tanks. Their actions are more symbolic that real because Israeli does not recognise any border that belongs to the Palestinian Territories just as they do not recognise the right of the Palestinians to have freedom from their four decades of occupation and brutal oppression.
The world is indeed a strange place. The monkey is free and the boys aren't!
