As someone who has a real interest in sociological trends, I am interested in getting some feedback from members of the public to this photograph.
I would welcome constructive, honest comments especially those which separate your initial EMOTIONAL reaction to the photograph from your eventual INTELLECTUAL reaction.
So that my neutrality will remain beyond question (there are those in blogdom whose motives are both lamentable and devious), I will not participate in whatever discussion or debate that may ensue!
However, when the thread is finished, I may attempt to summarize the viewpoints and categorize them by groups.
Over to you!

Imagine my dismay when I woke-up this morning only to find I went Blind overnight ; (
I don't see the picture.
Will make an appointment with an optometrist for this afternoon. ; (
Folks, can I offer my apologies. Because of a glitch in my computer, I posted and, this morning, accessed this site from Internet Explorer and the photo is there! I'll consult with my boy/electronic wizard and try to work out the problem! Cheers!
All problems resolved! Let's start again, will we?
They look captivated with each other....Two men or two women kissing always invokes the same thought in me. Such a waste of potential parenting because usually "gays" are physically and mentally attractive people....
However, the other side of my brain tells me that it is much better to have two same sex people loving each to bits than heterosexuals tearing each to bits.....
The young man has his eyes tightly closed as he engages - does that mean he doesn't really want to see what's coming?....to gaze lovingly into those dark brown eyes (only going by the beard!) Just a thought!
Mary
Thanks for your input, Mary!
P.S. Worried, if you check out the Don Quixote post, there is a bigger photo of the avatar. I got the image from Google Images under the heading: Don Quixote. As I recall there was no other information! Cheers!
It's a lovely image of two people about to kiss. Emotionally I see a great deal of compassion while intellectually I sense danger from certain groups of bigots.
Thanks for taking the time to comment Gracie. Cheers!
I just see two people kisssing but i also share gracies anxiety.
OBSERVATION ONLY: It's interesting to ponder why no males have responded thus far!
I know how I feel when I see two women kissing each other - its a beautiful thing. No, really. So, I'm not really surprised with the comments that the ladies have made.
Me, Im sorry, I couldn't get past the "emotional" reaction - in fact I dont understand what "intellect" has to do with any of this. Do you want me to give you a scientific analysis of how well they are stimulating each other's erogenous zones and predict who will attain orgasmic bliss first? Anyway, my intellect is telling me that it is time to visit the bathroom and kneel in front of the porcelein altar...
Now that you made the ladies happy, give us some lesbians Daniel.
I'll see what I can do, D.P. It's great to hear from you!
homosexual queers!!!!
That's a tautology I believe, bdawg! Thanks for dropping by.
I stumbled across this and thought I would give my thoughts.
I'm male firstly, just so you know.
When I look at it my emotion is set to 'slightly uncomfortable'. Logically, I think it's okay and that there is nothing wrong with it because there isn't, but deep down it feels a little unnatural for me.
I have nothing against lesbians though, which sort of contradicts my 'unnatural' feeling.
Oh and I'm comfortable around gays, as long as there's no sexual pleasing going on. Hugs and holding hands are okay by me though.
I really doubt this comment will help you as I'm beginning to confuse myself here.
Your comment is very enlightening, Matt. Please call again!
This picture is two actors portraying characters in the US version (mostly, I think, filmed in Canada in fact) of the well-known TV serial (you can see it on SBS) "Queer as Folk."
